This post includes products that were sent to me to review, however all opinions are my own.

Do you ever this thing where you don’t know something exists, and then you see it for the first time and then you start to notice it everywhere?

I do. All the time.

It happened to me recently with Etsy, a unique/handmade/vintage shopping website where you can buy stuff that is so cute and sweet it will literally give you diabetes. I once lived in a time where I didn’t know Etsy existed, and relied almost exclusively on Pier 1 and World Market for my home decor. Oh what a fool I was.

And then all of a sudden I found out that everyone was buying everything from Etsy.

Those cute chalkboard mason jars? – Etsy.

Stickers for my planner that count down to my Disney vacation? Etsy.

A jewelry holder made out of recycled driftwood? Etsy.

Everything people bought looked like it had been touched by the mystically quirky essence of Zooey Deschanel and the elegant style of Nate Berkus. I was hooked.

Slowly, I’ve started filling my house with Etsy finds that transformed my living and dining room from a suburban Texas home built in the 80’s to a coastal cottage in the Hamptons. So, when I was contacted by ShopConfettiDallas, an Etsy shop owned by Katie, Hannah, and Claire Hailey a mother-daughters trio from Dallas, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to review some of their items.

The Hailey clan are obsessed with crafting and were inspired to open ShopConfettiDallas when they came across unique boutique decor that they loved but was way overpriced. The ladies are on a mission to create one-of-a-kind high-end looking decor without the high-end price tag. They sell all kinds of home decor items but specialize in mugs and pillows.

To go with my coastal theme I chose this set of incredibly adorable mugs that say soul sisters on them. The font and arrows having this super charming nautical look to them so I felt they paired perfectly with my white, silver, and blue dining set. They are made from a high quality vinyl and come in a set of two so you can gift one to your friend or, in my case, keep both and look like a lonely lonely lady.

I also got this cute little accent pillow that says “I LOVE THIS PLACE”. The writing is stitched in on top of the pillow in a black felt and has a very cute, hand-made vibe. IMG_8553

It’s currently sitting on my couch, paired with two light blue pillows and a dark teal throw. I think my couch decor matches really well with the grey-blue walls, giving the space a serene and cozy feel.

Slowly but surely, I’m bringing in vintage and handmade items from Etsy to turn my Pier 1 palace into a one-of-a-kind little beach retreat. The most important lesson I’ve learned so far from decorating a house is to do it slowly over time. At first I was convinced I wanted to have everything perfectly decorated on move-in day, but it didn’t really turn out that way and looking back, I’m glad it didn’t.

Decorating slowly over time has allowed me to find unique pieces from different places rather than have to limit myself to one giant shopping trip at just a few stores. For anyone looking to decorate or redecorate a room, I highly suggest taking your time, looking at a million inspiration pictures and then finding unique pieces from Etsy to really give your space a unique look.
