If you follow me on Instagram then you probably know that I’m going through a bit of a love affair with fall at the moment. I don’t know why, but as soon as the clock strikes midnight and September 1st rolls in, I suddenly get the urge to bake pumpkin deserts, make wreaths from fallen leaves in my back yard, and retire my sandals for uggs. Basically from September to December my life is the human embodiment of Pinterest.
One particular fall trend that I’m very much into is berry colored lips (You could say they make me berry happy), so when I got my Ipsy this month I was super pleased at how fall oriented this entire bag was!
The theme for this month was “Face the Future” and the bag is meant to include products that “inspire the perfect transition from summertime casual to autumn elegance”. The products came in this beautiful faux leather gold bag which has a really cool texture on the front that reminds me of the texture of snake skin.
And here are all the products! In my box I received:
Bayberry Naturals Rosehip and Hibiscus Moisturizer
Hard pass on this. Aside from not being excessively moisturizing, this product has a distinct red wine smell which is not bad if you’re feeling boozy, but I’m pretty sure I would get some weird looks if I went around the office smelling intensely of red wine.
Trust Fund Beauty Nail Polish in the shade Elegantly Wasted
This isn’t exactly a fall color but I’m seriously digging this polish. The formula dries super fast and is chip resistant, which is great for fidgety people like me who can’t sit still and wait for their nails to dry! I received a full size bottle which retails for $15 on Trust Fund Beauty’s website, making my $10 Ipsy bag absolutely worth it. This is the first time I’ve ever tried anything from them but I’m very impressed so far and I have my eyes on their monthly subscriptions, though I don’t know if I can justify spending $72 on six nail polishes.
Acure Brightening Facial Scrub
I’m very familiar with this scrub because I use this every day in the shower! I love exfoliating my face but it’s not good to do it every day, so I use this as a super light exfoliant. The stem cells inside it allegedly stimulate new cell growth and repair and while I can’t necessarily confirm or deny that, it does make my face feel very soft.
NYX Eyeshadow trio in the shade 01
This tiny baby palette was a collab between Ipsy and NYX is exclusive for Ipsy subscribers (oooh ahhh, right?). The colors go well together and fit into the fall look but I’m not certain what makes this palette exclusive aside from the packaging, since I’m pretty sure I owned the individual eyeshadow singles for the deep copper and the soft black colors. Regardless, I’m always a fan of NYX and I dig the quality of their shadows for the price. These are going to work really well for a fall look.
City Color City Chic in the shade One Night Stand/B2
This lipstick is absolutely beautiful. I have been looking everywhere for this exact shade and was tempted to splurge on one of the Too Faced melted lipsticks (melted berry, if you must know) because I just couldn’t find a berry color that didn’t have so much blue in it. Unfortunately, this lipstick has zero staying power. If you’re looking for a beautiful berry lipstick for fall and don’t mind having to reapply it frequently, then this might be the lipstick for you.
I am SUPER impressed with this month’s Ipsy. It had a good mix of skincare, nails, and makeup and the bag is probably my favorite out of all of the ones I’ve received. Did you love your Ipsy too? Let’s talk about it in the comments section below!
