If you follow me on Instagram you may have seen my little sneak peek I posted earlier about today’s post. If you don’t, then you should probably drop everything you’re doing and go follow me @shalott.
Today I’m swatching five of my favorite Stila Stay all Day Liquid Lipstricks and let me tell you, what I thought was going to be a 30 minute endeavor turned out to be a 1.5+ hour odyssey. Let me tell you, when they say stay all day they mean stay all day. It took five makeup remover wipes to fully remove each color and clean the brush.
The formula is basically the same for all of them and dries to a very matte, ultra-opaque finish. I like wearing these alone or with a gloss on top. The gloss does lessen how long the product stays on, but it does remedy how drying the product is. Since I’m a girl who can’t manage to keep up with reapplying lipstick, these are my favorite item at the moment. But on to the swatches!
Baci is by far the most natural looking of the colors. In the above picture I’m wearing two coats but the difference between one and two layers is pretty drastic. I pair this with a purple smoky eye.
Ricco is a really deep, vampy red. This, along with Baci, are two brand new shades premiering this winter as part of Stila’s Christmas sets, but no fear! This beautiful shade will be available as one of the regular stay all day liquid lipsticks starting Spring 2016. Since this color is so dramatic I like to stick to a very natural eyeshadow look.
Beso is by far the most vibrant red lipstick I’ve ever worn. It pairs excellently with a bold winged liner for a 50’s inspired look. Unlike Baci, there’s not really a less intense version unless you maybe blend it with an other color to create your own unique mix.
I have one tiny complaint about Venizia and its that the color in the container is nowhere near as coral looking as it is when its applied. However, this a fun and bright red that definitely has more yellow than Beso. I wore this color all summer because of how amazing the color looks on sun kissed skin. To make the color pop even more, I sometimes also brush a bit of highlighter on the center of the lip.
And last but not least, Bella. Much like its other counterparts in this collection, Bella is also extremely loud. I got this one a while back and the consistency seems to be a little bit looser than the others. Because of this it builds really well and I can actually get a very wearable light pink color.
These colors are SO different that you can really use them for a million different looks. As is the case with most Stila products, the quality is extremely high and I haven’t really found a product that compares in durability and vibrancy of the colors. I can’t wait to buy more!
Have you tried the Stila stay all day liquid lipsticks? If you have, which one is your favorite? If you haven’t, is there one you would like to try?
